Beef Pot Roast by FlavorMaster

One of the most popular recipes in the FlavorMaster recipe book!
Prep Time 10 minutes, Cook Time 55 mins
Ingredients:
1 tbsp (15ml) oil
2 lbs (896g) beef chuck roast
1 can of low sodium beef broth (approx 2 cups)
1 large onion diced
3 large celery stalks diced
3 large potatos diced
6 gloves of garlic, peeled
4 bay leaves
1/4 cup (59ml) cornstarch mixed with 1/4 cup of water
Salt and Pepper
1. Season the roast with salt and pepper
2. Press the “SAUTE/BROWN” button, then the “START/CANCEL” button to heat your @flavormaster
3. When the unit beeps and displays “HOT” sear the roast on all sides until it browns nicely and turn the unit off by pressing the “START/CANCEL” button
4. Add the beef broth to the roast, along with the bay leaves, lock the Lid into place and make sure the Pressure Limit Valve is in the “SEAL” position
5. Press the “MEAT/STEW” button 3 times and add extra time with the +button, to set the cooking time to 50 minutes and lastly press the “START/CANCEL” button to begin the cooking
6. When the cooking process is done, turn off the unit with the “START/CANCEL” button carefully release the steam by turning the Pressure Limit Valve to “RELEASE”
7. When all the steam is released remove the lid and put in the remainder of the ingredients except the cornstrach into the Inner Cooking Pot
8. Put the lid back on, locking it into place and turn the Pressure Limit Valve to “SEAL”
9. Press “SOUP” once to set the cooking time for 6 minutes and press the “START/CANCEL” button
10. When it beeps that the cooking has completed turn the unit off with the “START/CANCEL” button and carefully release the steam as above
11. When all the steam is released, remove the lid

Gravy:
1. With the juices still in the Inner Cooking Pot press “SAUTE/BROWN” followed by “START/CANCEL” and bring to the boil
2. Once boiling pour in cornstarch mixture and stir to thicken
3. Once thickened hit “START/CANCEL” to turn off. Add salt and pepper to taste!
